About

Recruiters for banking, accounting and finance, based in Hartland.

Watervale Search Partners is a third-party recruiting firm. We fill financial seats for employers across Wisconsin, the Midwest and nationwide, and we represent the professionals who fill them.

Who we are

One field, known well.

We recruit only for banking, accounting and finance. That is a deliberate choice, not a gap in the list.

Financial roles are hard to judge from a resume. A credit analyst, a commercial lender and a tax manager can look alike on paper and be nothing alike at a desk. Knowing what a strong lender's pipeline looks like, or what separates a controller who closes the books from one who runs the finance function, takes years of working inside one field.

Staying in that field means the people we talk to every week are the people our clients want to hire. It also means a candidate who calls us is speaking with someone who understands their work, not a generalist reading keywords.

How a search works

Every search follows the same path. Nothing is committed until we both understand the seat.

01

We learn the seat

A conversation about the role, the team around it, what success looks like in the first year, and why the seat is open.

02

We go find people

We reach the professionals who fit, including the many who are good at their jobs and not looking. Each is approached with discretion.

03

We screen and check

Interviews, a close look at the work they have actually done, and references gathered in writing before anyone reaches you.

04

You meet a short list

Several qualified, prepared candidates, each serious about the role. We arrange interviews and travel so the process keeps moving.

05

We see it through

Honest feedback both ways, a straight answer when an offer is made, and help with relocation so a good hire does not stall on logistics.

What we look for

A good match works for both sides.

A placement only lasts if the employer and the person both chose well. So we listen to both, and we are honest with both.

In the people we bring forward

Real experience in the work, shown in what they have done rather than how they describe it. Judgment that fits the size of the institution: a smaller bank often needs someone who covers more than one discipline, while a larger team may need depth in one. And a genuine reason to want this role, so the person you meet is there by choice.

In the employers we work for

A clear picture of the seat and a willingness to talk openly about it: the team, the expectations, the reasons the role is open. Employers who give us that get a better short list, and candidates who hear it can decide quickly and honestly whether the role is right for them.

Our standards

References you can read, and a resume that never travels without permission.

Every candidate we present has been screened and prepared before you see them. Reference information comes with each one, including written references, so you are judging a track record and not just an interview.

For candidates, confidentiality comes first. Your resume is never sent to an employer without your knowledge, and your current employer does not hear about your search from us. Before any interview, you get the full details of the role and the organization, so you walk in prepared and choose for yourself whether it is worth your time.

What to expect

What we promise on every search.

If you are hiring

  • A screened short list. Several qualified people for each opening, already screened and prepared, all serious about the role.
  • References in writing. Detailed reference information with each candidate.
  • Interviews and travel arranged. We line up times and travel so the search does not drift.
  • Relocation help. If the right person lives elsewhere, we work through the move with them.
  • Honest feedback. Straight answers from both sides, and a quick response when an offer is on the table.

If you are exploring a move

  • Complete confidentiality. Your resume goes nowhere without your knowledge.
  • A conversation about your goals. What you want next, in the short term and the long term.
  • The full picture first. Details of each role and organization before you decide to interview.
  • Preparation. Help getting ready for each interview.
  • Practical help with a move. The community, local realtors, moving cost estimates and cost-of-living comparisons.
